The mission of New Dimensions Healthcare Consulting, LLC is to provide the long-term care and the rehabilitative industry with the tools, guidance, information and support which will ultimately provide better care to the residents they serve.
Mark Knepper, President and CEO, has more than 17 seventeen years of experience in the long-term care and rehabilitative industry. Mr. Knepper is a 1985 & 1987 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a BS degree in Education and Associate of Science degree in Computers. Mark also earned his Nursing Home Administrator License in 1988 and still holds active licenses in Ohio and North Carolina. Mark started his career working 8 years with Horizon Healthcare Corporation as an administrator and rehabilitation Divisional President over 10 states. In 1992 Mr. Knepper assisted Horizon Healthcare with the start-up and founding of Horizon’s rehabilitation company, which became the largest rehabilitation provider in the United States now know as Rehab Works, Inc. Mr. Knepper also worked eight years in the capacity of Divisional and Senior Vice Presidents with SunDance Rehabilitation, Inc., a subsidiary of Sun Healthcare Group. As Senior VP, Mr. Knepper oversaw a 22 state 100 million dollar division for SunDance. Mark’s last position was as Chief Operating Officer with Rehab Management, Inc. a small regional rehab company, which he helped expand and improve services.
Initially as an administrator, Mark became familiar with the Medicare reimbursement system and managing in-house therapy programs, HR issues, and census development. With Mark’s extensive managerial background he has developed an invaluable level of resources and knowledge to assist any organization with training modules (clinical, financial, operational and reimbursement) for large healthcare corporations, implementation of in-house rehabilitation programs, skilled nursing facility clinical and financial analysis along with vendor contracting and support.
Denise Hays, Senior Vice President Clinical Consulting Services, has 30 years of clinical and management experience in the rehabilitation industry. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Denise received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She began her career at the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh working as a speech language pathologist with acute rehabilitation, neurology, pediatric and head and neck cancer patients. While there, she co-authored “Alaryngeal Communication: A Comparative Study” that was presented at the 18 th Congress International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics. Denise also served as a Clinical Instructor in Speech Pathology on the Adjunct Faculties of the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. After nine years she left the hospital to work as a speech language pathologist in long term care settings for NovaCare and with children and adults in private practice and home health.
After moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1987 Denise worked in private practice and as a contract speech pathologist evaluating and treating adults and children in outpatient, long term care and home health settings. Denise contracted with Pinnacle Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy Associates, High Hopes, and SunHealth. In 1995 Denise joined SunDance Rehabilitation, a subsidiary of Sun Healthcare Group as a Clinical Director for the newly formed Tennessee region. She became Regional Director of Operations and Regional Vice President in 1996 and for the next 8 years managed therapy operations in affiliated and external long term care facilities in five states. Her responsibilities included clinical and financial management of physical, occupational and speech therapy programs in more than 56 facilities with a $13 million annual business line. Denise is skilled in region and facility start-up and region turn around including successful implementation of 17 facilities with a mere ten days notice and transitioning 38 facilities to the PPS system in July 1998. Denise has extensive background in budget development, staff training, compliance, clinical and program implementation, HR issues, conversion of therapy programs and strategic planning. An experienced in-service instructor, Denise has delivered presentations to multidisciplinary audiences including therapists, nurses, administrators and physicians. Denise has also served as Business Development Representative and Regional Manager for RehabManagement, Inc, a small regional company where she helped expand service in Tennessee.
